Vysoké Mýto

Vysoké Mýto, about 40 km far from Pardubice, ranks among one of the oldest towns of the region. The historic core consists of one of the biggest square-shaped squares in the Czech Republic, towers and gates being the remains of the medieval fortifications and a gothic St. Lawrence Church with art-nouveau frecoes in its interior. The town is famous for automobile construction works which is commemorated by the exhibition of the Museum of Czech Car Bodywork with cars from the early 20th century.  On the outskirts of the town, there is a racing circuit and a small airport.
