The Hamza Treatment Centre

The Hamza Treatment Center for children and adults is located in Luže-Košumberk and is one of the most important rehabilitation facilities in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1901 by Prof. MUDr. František Hamza and originally served children with tuberculosis; it gradually developed into a modern rehabilitation institute. The clinic has extensive barrier-free grounds set in a park with an arboretum, modern rehabilitation equipment, including robotic aids, and offers inpatient and outpatient care under the guidance of a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
From the perspective of the East Bohemia Film Office, the Hamza Sanatorium complex in Luže-Košumberk is particularly interesting for its architectural diversity, size, and atmosphere. In one enclosed and easily controllable complex, there are historic pavilions from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, functionalist buildings, and newer structures, which allows the location to be used for films and series from different time periods.
Another significant benefit is the extensive park with an arboretum, which has a calm, timeless feel and can serve as a spa, hospital, or castle setting. The complex is visually clean, without any distracting modern buildings, offering long corridors, a pavilion system, medical-style interiors, and exteriors with natural greenery. It is conveniently located outside a large city and has good transport links with extensive production facilities.
